Civil Engineering

Civil and Construction Engineering involves the application of scientific and technological principles to the design and construction of facilities for the community such as: railways, harbours, roads, bridges, water supply and wastewater treatment, dams, mining construction, power projects, and buildings.

This discipline requires a strong background in the mathematical and physical sciences. Civil engineers work closely with planners, architects and environmental scientists.

In the Australian Government’s Excellence in Research for Australia (ERA) 2015 assessment, Curtin University is ranked above world standard in Civil Engineering.
