To our international visitors, welcome to the Science and Engineering International Office.
Here, we are delighted to be building global linkages in education and research, and providing the support that ensures our students enjoy a top-quality education experience. We also help maintain Curtin’s education partnerships in countries around the globe, which contributes to the strong industry linkages that provide students with valuable internship and exchange opportunities.
Why do international students choose Curtin? Curtin is ranked in the top two per cent of universities worldwide, and ranked third in the top 25 science institutions in the Asia-Pacific, ranked 4th in Natural Science and Mathematics and 7th in Engineering/Technology and Computer Sciences in Australia in the ARWU-FIELD 2016 rankings. Eighteen out of twenty two of our research areas are ranked ‘above world class’ and ‘well above world class’ in the Excellence Research Australia (ERA) 2015 ranking. On the subject of ranking, our Mineral and Mining Engineering courses ranked second in the world in the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2017, and most of our courses are among the top 200.
And while Curtin is the largest university in Western Australia, one-third of our students are from a country other than Australia and our staff come from over 38 countries – helping to create the vibrant multicultural learning environment we all enjoy.
