iNexus National Robotics Competition 2010
Preparations are underway for the second iNexus Australia National Robotics Competition. Last year was a fantastic experience for all, both competitors and organisers, and we are looking forward to the challenge again. Congratulations to the winners of last year's competition, iNexus Australia - National Robotics Competition 2009 - University of Adelaide (1st), Curtin University of Technology and Swinburne University (equal). Curtin also won the 'Keepad Interactive Campus Travel People's Choice award'. The 'M3 design award' was won by RMIT.
For the past several months, volunteer students from Curtin Business School and the Faculty of Science and Engineering have been working in collaboration with students from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay, to organise the iNexus Australia National Robotics Championships. The 2010 iNexus Australia National Robotics Championships will be held sometime in early December (TBC) at Curtin University. We are hoping to hold it in our new Engineering Pavilion currently under construction. University teams from across Australia will be competing to win flights to India to take part in the grand finals in Mumbai on January 2011. The task for 2010 has not yet been set so watch this space. The event is free and open to the public. Activities will commence from morning, the final competition will start about noon, and it will be all over by early afternoon.
The iNexus student organising team has been working very hard on this project. It is an innovative, interdisciplinary, international event and shows just what our students are capable of doing. We look forward to seeing you there.
