Professor Peter Moore

Professor Peter Moore is a senior oil and gas executive and has over 30 years of industry experience in large operating companies, including ExxonMobil and Woodside Petroleum Ltd. From 2009 to 2013, Peter was the Executive Vice President for Woodside Energy Ltd where he led the company’s worldwide exploration efforts with an annual budget of roughly $0.5B. Prior to Woodside, had been head of Global Studies for ExxonMobil in Houston.

Since April 2014, Peter has been working at the Curtin Business School as Professor & Executive Director Strategic Engagement. He is involved in reviewing the Faculty’s strategic plan, in addition to developing CBS’s relationships and partnerships with key interest groups, such as industry, government and research bodies within Australia and abroad. Peter is also a non-executive director of Carnarvon Petroleum LTD and Central Petroleum LTD and Chairman of ESWA Inc.

Peter graduated with a B.Sc. (Hons 1) in Geology from Wollongong University, a Ph.D from Adelaide University and has an executive MBA in Business administration and management from the Mount Eliza Business School. He is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and holds a number of corporate Board positions.
